SMS Presents the 5th Annual Geography Bee and Geographic Literacy Night

November 16, 2017

4:00-7:00 P.M.

The Superior Middle School Social Studies department will be hosting its 5th annual National Geographic Society Geography Bee and Geographic Literacy Night.  SMS students will participate in a classroom and grade level bee in each wing.  Nine students from each wing will then have the opportunity to advance to the SMS Geography Bee.  One winner and alternate will be decided upon completion of the school bee.  The winner of the school bee will need to take a qualifying exam to determine advancement eligibility for the state competition.  State competition winners will have the opportunity to advance to the national bee.  More information can be found at http://nationalgeographic.org/bee  


The night’s activities are as follows:


4:00-5:00 Geography games and activities in the community events and cafeteria area.

5:00-5:45 First round of Geography Bee

5:45-6:10 Break-Pizza and refreshments will be served to participants and guests

6:10-7:00 Final round of Geography Bee


All students are invited to attend Geographic Literacy night, however, students must be accompanied by an adult.  If you have further questions, please contact:
